Saints Peter and Paul Church is a Roman Catholic church located in Hinunangan, Southern Leyte, Philippines.

History

The town’s name comes from hononganan, which means a place to stop or resting place. Its church was a visita of Abuyog, Leyte, and it became a parish in 1851. A church built during the term of Fr. Pedro Monasterio in 1853 no longer exists today. Some of its carved stones bearing busts of cherub and the symbol of the Franciscan Order are in display in the church’s grounds.

Architecture

The facade consists of pilasters between pierced walls. By the entrance is a gable roof and the main portal is an arch opening. The bell tower is erected in the gospel side.

Celebration

The feast day of Sts. Peter and Paul is June 29.

Confession is scheduled at 6:00 in the evening every Wednesday and Sunday.
