A chapel stood in its place for decades and it was elevated to a parish placed under the patronage of St. Francis of Assisi in 1985.
Architecture
The interior of the church has interesting features on its ceiling where concrete, curvilinear concrete bands extend to the roof. The apertures are pointed arches interspersed by blind windows, while the walls are pierced with arches with elaborate openwork.
Celebration
The feast of St. Francis of Assisi falls on October 4.
