St. James the Greater Church is a Roman Catholic church located in Santa Margarita, Samar, Philippines.

History
The town of Santa Margarita was called Magsohong in the past. It was a territory belonging to Calbayog, but a request was formally sent on June 28, 1878 to secede on the account that Calbayog was far and the settlement had a church, convent, school, and casa real. It became a pueblo through a Royal Decree in 1892. Its founding anniversary is every November 28 pursuant to Republic Act No. 11183.
The church had a major rebuilding in 2009 within the term of Fr. Francisco Cinco as its parish priest. In 2017, a new design was introduced by Fr. Dionesio Calderon and Fr. Roland Cajegas at a total project cost of 50 million pesos.
Celebration
The feast day of St. James the Greater is July 25 and the town celebrates the Alimango Festival.
